On the 24th and 25th of November, 2023, the VI Conference of the Italian Association of Design Historians (AIS/Design) will take place at the Bovisa-Durando Campus of the Politecnico di Milano. The conference's theme is "At the Roots of Expanded Design. What Futures for the History of Design?". Over the two days, discussions will revolve around the future of historical studies and teaching in the field of design history concerning contemporary phenomena. The curators are Giampiero Bosoni, Marinella Ferrara, Francesco E. Guida, and Chiara Lecce (Politecnico di Milano), with the collaboration of Letizia Bollini (Free University of Bolzano-Bozen).

The conference is structured into two main clusters, "Histories of Expanded Design" and "Teaching the History of Design between Past, Present, and Future." On Saturday, November 25th, a special track is scheduled, "The Contribution of Vanni Pasca to the History and Historiography of Design," during which the three winning theses of the inaugural edition of the prize named after the Association's first president, who passed away in October 2021, will be presented (https://www.aisdesign.org/v2/vincitori-i-edizione-premio-tesi-vanni-pasca/).
