INTERDEPENDENCE:
past, present, future

For the third consecutive year, the Polimi Design System (School of Design, Department of Design & Poli.design) is back with a new instalment of INTERDEPENDENCE at Milan Design Week 2026.

After analyzing the concepts of relationships and connections with INTERDEPENDENCE: designing relationships(2024) and exploring the tensions between polarities with INTERDEPENDENCE: exploring opposites (2025), this year we will examine the interdependences of temporal dimensions with INTERDEPENDENCE: past, present, future.

For the year 2026, INTERDEPENDENCE will develop across 3 locations:

  • Open Day 2026 @ Campus Leonardo (28 March2026)
with a selection of projects by master's degree Students of the School of Design at Politecnico di Milano.
  • Fabbrica del Vapore – Spazio Messina (17-26 Aprile 2026)
with an international exhibition of projects by students from Politecnico di Milano and selected design schools from all over the world.
  • SaloneSatellite @ Rho Fiera Milano (21-26 Aprile 2026)
with a selection of projects by Students of the School of Design at Politecnico di Milano.

Projects will be presented through images and texts, which can be complemented by prototypes/3D models and/or videos.
