Students have the possibility to customise their Study Plan within their Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree course, by indicating their preference options for certain Studios and Workshops, and for elective courses.
After the preference options have been expressed, the School will allocate students based on meritocratic criteria that consider the number of credits passed and the weighted average (criteria found in the Study Plan Guide).
For Laboratories, the number of options is equal to the number of courses; for elective courses, you must express 8 options for each group.
Presentation of Laboratory Sections with Option Selection – Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees
For some Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, students may customize their study plan by indicating their preferences for laboratory sections. This represents an opportunity to tailor one’s academic trajectory.

Customisation of the Bachelor’s Degree Study Plan
Students in the second year of their degree courses have the possibility to express their preferences for the Laboratory scheduled for the second semester (if foreseen, also for a 1st semester Laboratory).

Some Degree courses offer various options for Curricular Workshops in co-operation with the professional world:
Interior Design: call for the Interdisciplinary Workshop in the third year of the Bachelor’s Degree (internship activity in co-operation with the professional world);
Product Design: call for Interdisciplinary Workshop in the third year of the Bachelor’s Degree (internship activity in co-operation with the professional world);

Following allocation to the elective courses, the School provides a one week time period in which students can submit a request to change the elective course in which they have been allocated, choosing among the courses with available places.
Some Master's Degree courses offer enrolled students the opportunity to participate in curricular Workshops organized in collaboration with visiting professors, featuring a section selection option. Specifically, the provisions are as follows:
- Master of Science in Integrated Product Design: launch of a selection procedure (call) for the allocation of the 2nd-year Workshop Experience.
- Master of Science in Interior and Spatial Design: launch of a selection procedure (call) for the allocation of the 1st-year Workshop.
- Master of Science in Communication Design: launch of a selection procedure (call) for the allocation of the 2nd-year Workshop 2. Please note that the 1st-year Workshop 1 is assigned ex officio (automatically) upon allocation of the student's section during enrollment.
- Master of Science in Digital and Interaction Design: launch of a selection procedure (call) for the allocation of the 1st-year User Centred Design Workshop and the 2nd-year Professional Workshop.
- Master of Science in Product Service System Design: launch of a selection procedure (call) for the allocation of the 1st-year Design Seminars.
- Master of Science in Design for the Fashion System: the academic regulations include 1st-year Workshops with no option for section selection.
Please be advised that the Master of Science in Design does not include any curricular Workshop activities within its study plan.

Each course of study may provide the expression of further options of attendance, depending on the specific nature of the learning programme. Students must evaluate the programme, the language and semester of delivery, and the time schedule of the courses, in order to express their preferences.
